The Village of Frisco is situated on a narrow strip of sand called Hatteras Island and is a part of North Carolina's famous Outer Banks (OBX). It is a popular destination for surf fishing, surf boarding, kiteboarding, sailboarding, sunbathers, boaters, campers, RVers, beachcombers as well as history buffs. Frisco is approximately six miles long and it has only one main highway (NC Hwy 12) entering and exiting. Frisco has no traffic lights. So even in the peak of the tourism season traffic is never a real problem here in Frisco.

All six miles of Frisco's beaches are part of the Cape Hatteras National Seashore under the jurisdiction of the National Park Service. Visitors with four wheel drive vehicles are permitted to drive on specified Frisco beaches if willing to abide by the rules. National Seashore - NPS

Cape Hatteras has been a tourist destination for many years. The plants, wildlife, and even the people who live here adapt continually. Whether you are enjoying the beach, kayaking the Sound, fishing or climbing the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse there is something for everyone to enjoy! Frisco Beach Activites

Frisco beaches offer many activities like beach walking, picnicking, playing in the sand, fishing, surfing, kite flying, boogie boarding, etc. Enjoy a cool ocean breeze on a hot day while enjoying our natural Frisco beaches providing outstanding memories for your entire family. Special Note -Beach fires are allowed from 6:00 am to 10:00 pm from November 16th through April 30th throughout the park. Frisco Beach Activities

NPS Permits and Reservations

Frisco beaches are regulated by the National Park Service. In order to protect the various plants and wildlife, many activities like driving on the beach, fishing, fires, commercial filming, tournaments, marathons, weddings, speeches and other group gatherings are allowed by permit only. Please study the rules before making plans for any of these events on Hatteras Island. NPS Permits and Reservations
